Craig Ogden Concert - March 29th 2025
Our first concert of 2025 is a big one - starting the new year of classical guitar music in a very special way.

We are delighted to announce the return of the internationally famed guitarist Craig Ogden to Swansea for a major concert at 7.00 p.m on 29th March at Sketty Park Community Centre.
Australian born Craig has been described by BBC Music Magazine as "A worthy successor to Julian Bream", and is seen as one of the most exciting guitarists of his generation.
He studied guitar from the age of seven and, in 2004, became the youngest instrumentalist to receive a Fellowship Award from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
He is one of the UK’s most recorded guitarists and has accumulated an acclaimed discography for Chandos, Virgin/EMI, Nimbus, Hyperion, Sony and chart-topping albums for Classic FM. His most recent recordings are a solo recital disc for Chandos, Craig Ogden in Concert and a new arrangement of the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach with violinist David Juritz and cellist Tim Hugh for Nimbus Records. You can read more about Craig here at his web site.

General Note
Members perform in two public concerts a year (June and November). Students of the RWCMD also perform here publicly once or twice a year. We also arrange concerts with leading classical guitarists from all over the world.
Circle Concerts
Circle members put on two public concerts a year, in November and June. These long running and popular events on the musical calendar offer a wonderful evening of classical guitar music for people from all over south and west Wales.
Members perform various pieces in ensemble and solo, duet or trio for a delightful evening of classical guitar music and enjoyment. Tickets are usually £7.50 for member concerts and £10 for special guest performers.
Students of the RWCMD
Guitar students of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Dance visit us once or twice a year. These are always a great concert, not to be missed. The students perform various pieces in ensemble.
We are delighted to support these young musicians, who are studying with the internationally renowned Helen Sanderson, who also conducts. They also study with John Mills and other great masters.
For many of them these are the key performances in their final exam. It is always a great pleasure to see them in Swansea and we do hope that you can come along.
